She is the heart of the WhaleTimes creative team! Here's more...
What's your favorite animal? My favorite animal would have to be dogs. I know, it's not from the ocean but that is my favorite. My favorite from the ocean is the dolphin. There are so many types but I guess my favorite would be the Atlantic white-sided dolphin.
How did you get interested in the ocean? I've always loved the ocean. As I child I would spend my summer vacations in Wildwood, New Jersey. My father would rent a boat and we would get up early and go fishing. I once caught a sand shark. We threw it back into the sea. In the afternoon we would then go to the beach. I loved waking every morning to the sounds of the ocean and the smell of it. It's one of my most favorite memories
What's your favorite ocean experience? My three sons and I rented a boat last year. It was a beautiful summer day, perfect for boating. The kind of day that you only see in the movies. As we traveled out to the sea our boat was followed by a school of dolphins. They jumped and swam so close to the boat that we felt like we could reach out and touch them. The amazing part, though, was the return trip. They followed us back. It was truly a perfect day for me, just to be so close to them. They are truly magnificent.
What are two things do you do in your home to help the environment? I try very hard to watch my use of electric and gas. I keep my thermostat adjusted and make as few trips as I can for shopping.
What is your goal for WhaleTimes, Inc.? My goal for WhaleTimes is to help it become the best it can be in helping teachers and children find answers to their questions and to have fun finding those answers. Along the way, they'll realize that science is fun and interesting, I hope it encourages more children to become more involved in science.
