J Maps from Dr. Smith (click on the map to see larger map)

Oahu/Maui

Maui Lanai Molokai

To help here is a quick legend what depth the colors represent:

s The light orange is 100 meters or less.

s The center of the channel between Lanai and Maui is less than 100 m.

s Either side and/or into the other channels is over 100-200 m.

s The slope break (where it gets very steep) in the underwater platform (darker orange) is about 700 m.

s The darker blue grades into 5000 m

JVirtual Team Member Questions and Scientist's Answers

After the Science Team answers your questions, we forward them to you. We also create a pdf copy for other virtual team members to review. The answers are so interesting, we want to be sure everyone has a chance to read them.
