Blue Shark Highlights:
These sharks are as beautiful as they are dangerous. Blues have been known to attack and harass divers.  They generally live offshore, but can come near shore.  The blue shark is one of the most abundant species of sharks, but is also the most fished. It is estimated that 10 to 20 million are killed a year.
Blue sharks are viviparous.
Pups are born after a 9- to 12-month
gestation period (or 9 to 12 months after fertilization). A litter of pups consists of 4 to 82 pups.
