WhaleTimes PRIVACY POLICY:

WhaleTimes does not require any information, except a correct "reply-to" e-mail address to ask a question or add to our WhaleTale.

However, if a visitor chooses to e-mail (or snail-mail) a question to WhaleTimes we prefer to know the following:

First name, school, grade, city, state, and country

    This information is used to help the WhaleTimes staff answer questions and provide information at the appropriate age level or grade of requestor. Plus, where a student lives may help us suggest local animals or experts for further research.

    E-mail address or name of submitter are not *shared or given to anyone. We respond to a one-time request only.  (Unless "submitter" requests further information or needs clarification on response.)

    *On rare occasion, if we are unable to answer question (because it is outside of our expertise) we may forward it to another expert who helps students with homework. We endeavor to notify the sender before we foreword the message, and in most cases supply the sender the e-mail address so they can forward their own question.

    If a visitor chooses to e-mail (or mail) an addition to our Neverending WhaleTale the story will be posted on the WhaleTale pages. Additions to our story may be edited as WhaleTimes sees fit. The writer’s first name, city, state and country will be listed on website if story is used. The school may also be listed, if student and parent want it. (Please note: All stories submitted to WhaleTimes become the exclusive property and copyright of WhaleTimes and can be used anyway they see fit.)

    Our host site may also passively track visitors to our site. The only information collected is number of visitors to each page, which Internet Service Provider (ISP) they use (example: aol.com or yahoo.com...etc.), what area of the country or world visitors are from, and how long visitors stay on each page. This data is gathered only for our benefit and used to better our website.  NOTE: We do not know from this passive information the exact e-mail addresses of individual visitors.

The information gathered -- actively via e-mails from visitors or passively is only used by WhaleTimes.
